With the help of Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Samuel L. Jackson, Lincoln Portrait evokes the spirit of the early pioneers, travelling into the vast open American landscapes. Benjamin Britten, the leading British composer of the mid-20th century, composed The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra in 1945 to accompany an educational film presenting the instruments of the orchestra. Britten wrote a set of variations on a theme by Henry Purcell. Academy Award and Grammy winner Cher takes the listener on an entertaining and enchanting musical tour through the orchestra -- first as a whole, then in sections and finally individually.
