Once In A Red Moon continues Secret Garden’s tradition of straight-from-the-heart performances and accomplished songwriting. The passionate ballad “You Raise Me Up,” with moving lyrics by Brendan Graham, features vocals by Brian Kennedy of “Riverdance” fame and the excitable gospel power of the London Community Gospel Choir, as well as Uillean Pipes master Liam O’Flynn. Other vocal tracks, “The Gates Of Dawn,” and “Greenwaves” feature Scottish singer Karen Matheson, while world renowned cellist Julian Lloyd Webber joins Secret Garden on the haunting track “Duo.” Other highlights include trademark Secret Garden instrumentals such as “The Promise” and “Awakening.” The album also features a once in a lifetime musical experiment involving fans from all corners of the globe. Via their website, the duo asked people to participate in the making of Once In A Red Moon by sending them “a C chord,” recorded on a piano. They received piano chords from all over the world, creating a global energy of sound for the final chord of the emotional closing track “Elegie.”
